Communication Log

We have created an Excel document which can serve as a communication log. An administrator can use this log for organizing either phone calls or email responses. It is color coded so that the administrator can track which stakeholder was called/emailed, and if there is an unresolved issue to come back to. Again, please email us for an electronic version of this tool.

Walk Through/Observation Tracker

We have created a calendar tracker to help an administrator keep track of their observations and routine walkthroughs. We know the value of being a "visable leader" in school. The best way for a principal to understand what is going on in the school is to be in the classrooms as much as possible. We have color coded a calendar in Microsoft Publisher that will allow an administrator to track the grade level, according to color, that he/she has visited each day/week.

Faculty Accountability

We have created an excel worksheet that can be used for tracking faculty lesson plan submissions as well as grade postings. The worksheet has a sheet for each grading period, labeled with the Monday of each week. The administrator can easily check for electronic submission of lesson plans each week. They can also track the frequency of updated grades and submission of final grades. We hope that this tool is useful. Please email us if you want the electronic version.

Calendar Tracker

We formated the following calendar to help an administrator keep track of monthly activities, meetings, or other important information. The calendar is color coded, so that the stakeholders involved in each event can be easily seen. If you would like to recieve an electronic version of this calendar tracker, please email us. We have a template set up in Microsoft Publisher for the 2009-2010 school year.

Philosophy Statement

We believe that in order to have effective schools, all stakeholders must be openly communicating with each other. As administrators, we feel that our role is to facilitate positive communication with parents, students, faculty, and the community.
We hope that this blog can be an effective tool to aid in communication practices.
